I wanted to say
Thank You
to all who sent birthday cards/presents for Saydie. She had a wonderful birthday. We had cake and ice-cream and sang happy birthday. It was nice to be able to have a day at home. We had to have cake for breakfast, Saydie just couldn't wait any longer. Charles got up with her, bright and early, and made her chocolate cake. I think dad was just as excited for the cake as Saydie was. Although, judging from the picture, I don't think dad knew how old she was turning. She is four not three. :) They didn't wait for the cake to cool before frosting it, so it was deliciously warm and gooey. 
Yesterday we got our rental car--finally! Saydie wanted to go out for ice-cream so we went to Rita's. Saydie had been asking to go all summer and now was so excited to be able to. She ordered the Swedish fish flavor (It really tastes like Swedish Fish) and used her birthday money to pay for it. She made a big deal over paying for it herself. She even made sure that she bought her brother an ice-cream, too. I am so proud of how grown up she is getting.
Also, we want to say Happy Birthday to Nate and Grandma.
